Bonnie L. Bowles, the daughter of Albert and Bernice Lockett, was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on January 26, 1936. She was raised and educated in Rowan, Iowa. After High School, Bonnie attended the American Institute of Business (AIB) in Des Moines, Iowa.

On August 25, 1957, she was united in marriage with Andy J. Bowles from Adel, Iowa. Together, they raised three children: Jerry, Beth, and Alan.

Bonnie worked in several locations as an Administrative Assistant prior to starting a family. Once she and Andy started to raise a family, she no longer worked outside of the home, and became a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother.

Bonnie was a long-time member of the De Soto United Methodist Church in De Soto, Iowa. Her interests included cooking and baking, gardening, doing various craft projects, playing bingo, and spending time with family and friends.

Bonnie passed away on September 27, 2024, at Azria Health in Winterset, Iowa where she had been a resident for over seven years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother – Doede Harms, brother – Bill Lockett, and sister – Violet Pohlman, as well as son-in-law – Michael Wonderlin.

Bonnie is survived by Andy Bowles, her husband of 67 years. Bonnie is also survived by sons Jerry (Sheri) Bowles and Alan (Stacey) Bowles, and daughter Beth Wonderlin. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Caldwell Parish Funeral Home in Adel, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 also at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, 735 South 14th Street in Adel, Iowa. Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Adel.

Memorials may be left to the De Soto United Methodist Church in De Soto, Iowa. Online condolences may be left for the family at caldwellparrish.com
