Mrs. R.J. Emerson Died Last Tuesday -

Mrs. Ralph J. Emerson formerly of the Peru community, died Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Newton where she had lived for several years. She had been in failing health for an extended period.

Mrs. Emerson was the former Sarah Bullin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bullin. She was born near Peru and spent most of her life in that vicinity.

She and her husband moved from Peru to California returning to Iowa a few years later to settle at Newton.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Lyle Emerson of Newton; two grandchildren; a great grandchild; and several brothers. Burial was made in the cemetery at Peru with graveside services there.

Graveside Services Held For Former Resident -

Graveside funeral services conducted by Rev. Ray Harness were held at the Peru cemetery Friday afternoon, Nov. 28th, for Mrs. Ralph Emerson who died at her home in Newton this week.

Mrs. Emerson was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bullin and made her home in this community most of her life, having lived in Newton the last several years. She had been in very poor health for a long time.

She is survived by her husband; one son Lyle, also of Newton; two grandchildren; and four brothers; Harve, of St. Joseph, Mo.; R.L. Bullin, of Portland, Oregon; Phillip, of Montana and George, of Peru.
