Crystal DeGonia, 45, of Diagonal, died Sunday, August 25, 2024, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Celebration of Life Services will be 1:11 p.m. September 7, 2024, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. The services will be live streamed. Pastor Deloris Doench and Pastor Tim Maxa will officiate. The burial will be at Moon Cemetery near Macksburg. Open visitation will be 2-7:00 p.m. September 6, 2024, with family receiving friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Crystal Gail (Kneedler) DeGonia was born August 21, 1979, in Creston to Frank Joseph Kneedler and Cynthia Marie (Driggs) Kneedler. She grew up in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in 1998 and attended 1 year at SWCC in the Nursing program. After graduating she worked at Afton Nursing Home, Creston Nursing & Rehab working as a C.N.A. She later did in-home care with Iowa Focus and was currently working at Michaels Food in Lenox as a Control Supervisor, where she has worked since 2007.

On June 8, 2002, Crystal was united in marriage to Carl Walter DeGonia at Pleasant Valley Church south of Thayer.

Crystal was Secretary of Session at Platte Center Church and volunteered and traveled on mission trips to El Salvador.

Crystal is survived by her husband Carl DeGonia of Diagonal; her mother Cindy Kneedler of Creston, her children Riley DeGonia of Diagonal, Amber DeGonia of Creston, Jerry DeGonia of Diagonal, Krista (husband Kaleb) Brown of Lawton Oklahoma; her sister Marie (Jay) Gossman of Afton; three grandchildren, Kenton, Kinzie and Kayla Brown, she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Frank Kneedler and her mother and father in-law, Mike and Joan McVay.
