Earl Dalby Culver, Jr., affectionately known as "Dal," passed away on July 18, 2024, in Crete, Illinois, at the age of 85. Born on May 8, 1939, in Greenfield, Iowa, Dal led a full and vibrant life marked by his warm humor, kindness, and a touch of sarcasm that endeared him to many.

Dal's early education took place in Iowa, attending North Ward in Winterset, followed by Winterset High prior to transferring to Abraham Lincoln High in Des Moines where he Lettered in Wrestling. He embarked on a diverse career path that saw him working at the Post Office, driving long-haul trucks, operating as an express courier, and finally driving for ADCLABS. His work was characterized by a dedication and resilience that were equally evident in his personal pursuits to see the world.

A man of numerous hobbies, Dal had a lifelong passion for auto racing and motorcycles, which mirrored his daring and adventurous youthful spirit. He also found joy in fishing, woodworking, bowling, and listening to music and talk radio, each hobby another facet of his personality.

Dal's family was central to his life. He is survived by his eldest son, Dalby; son, Timothy; daughter, Tina; granddaughter, Gracie May; daughter in law, Pamela Jo; daughter in law, Deana Renee; son in law, Brian Harvey; brothers, Gale, Gary, Bruce, and Wendell; and sisters, Joyce and Linda, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Dalby Culver, Sr. and Opal Viola Culver, and brothers, Dale Richard and Larry Eugene.

Services to honor and celebrate Dal's life will be held at Greenfield Cemetery 2493 State Hwy 25, Greenfield, Iowa, on Saturday, August 31st at 11:00 am. The service will be officiated by, "my little brother Gale" and brother Gary. A gathering for family and friends will follow at 3005 River Trail, Menlo, IA 50164 to continue celebrating Dal's memorable life. The Greenfield Cemetery is also assisting the family during this time.

Dal's life was one of kindness, love, and laughter, deeply enriching the lives of those around him. His legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
