Cicero Hamilton Claimed By Death

Cicero Hamilton, son of Dr. Wm. and Mary McDonald Hamilton, was born at Hamburg, Iowa, on December 28, 1852, and died April 14, 1928, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 16 days. His death occurred at Wesley Hospital, Oklahoma City, early Saturday morning, where he had been taken for treatment for chronic carditis, from which he had been a constant sufferer since the death of his wife six weeks ago.

May 31, 1876, Mr, Hamilton was married to Mattie E. Strong at Winterset, Iowa, who died November 1st. 1879, leaving one son, W. T., of Anadarko.

April 12, 1885, Mr. Hamilton was married to Sarah V. Strong at Winthrop, Missouri, who died February 20, 1928. To this union were born six children, all of whom are living, namely: Raymond W, of Cogar; Guy L. of Kansas City; Mamie E. of Weatherford; Walter C. of Hinton; Chas. F. of Clinton; and Ralph A. of Enid.

Besides his immediate family he leaves to mourn his departure a brother, Chas. A. of Shenandoah, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Flora Hoffman, of Omaha, Nebraska; eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Hamilton has been a prominent and active member of the Masonic order for over forty years. He was initiated in 1885 at Rushville, Missouri, and the same year at St. Joseph, Missouri, was raised to the degree of Master Mason, and at the time of his death was an honorary member of the Binger lodge.

Funeral services were conducted at the family home in Weatherford on Sunday afternoon with Revs. Carruth, of Weatherford, and Palmer, of Hinton, officiating. Services at the graveside were conducted by members of Masonic lodges from Binger, Hinton and Weatherford, Interment followed in Greenwood cemetery, Weatherford.
