Bonnie (Foland) Decker, 56, of Lorimor, died Thursday, March 14, 2024 at her home after a recent illness.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. April 14, 2024 at the Lorimor Community Center in Lorimor. Pastor Sheila Sutton will officiate. Burial will be private at a later date. Visitation with family receiving friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m. April 14th at the Lorimor Community Center. A potluck meal will follow the service. Memorials can be directed to the family. The family is in charge of the April 14th Services.
Bonnie Ranee (Foland) Decker, daughter of Robert B. Foland and Baunadine N. (Perry) Foland, was born March 8, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from East Union High School in 1986. She was later trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
On January 28, 1991, Bonnie married Larry Savage at the Pleasant Valley Church of rural Thayer. They later divorced in 1993.
On October 3, 1998, Bonnie married Mike Decker in Lorimor. They lived and worked out of Lorimor. Bonnie worked as an aid first for Afton Care Center. Later, she worked as an office manager for the Westbridge Nursing Home in Winterset. Mike and Bonnie separated in 2009.
Bonnie’s most recent employment was at Greenfield Care Initiatives Care Center as the office manager. Bonnie was very crafty and a great painter. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and making afghans.
Bonnie is survived by a son, Dillon Decker (fiancé Dawn Baddley) of Lorimor; granddaughter, Maya Decker; spouse Mike Decker of Lorimor; two brothers Craig (Julie) Foland of Bedford and Brian (Carmen) Foland of Murray; a sister-in-law, Teresa Foland of Bedford; a nephew Bruce Foland; a niece Dawn Foland-Petrik; several great nieces and nephews; and other cousins and extended family.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law Peyten Spencer in 2018, two brothers Myron (Darlene) Foland and Rodney Foland, two nephews, Robert & Eric Foland; and a niece Nicki Foland.
