July 2016Reverend Kenneth Ray Jones was born on January 13, 1922 in Earlham, Iowa.
His home going occurred on July 17, 2016 in Glendale, Arizona.
He was born into a devoutly Christian family. His parents were the late Elmer S. and Stella May Jones.
Kenneth was raised on a farm, and before becoming a pastor he studied surveying, worked in a foundry, and worked in sales, including sales of cemetery plots. He loved maps and travel, and was an expert in American geography. Kenneth graduated with a bachelor's degree from Malone University, and a master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
On June 26, 1954 he was united in marriage with Evelyn Lorene Cosand, a music teacher. They worked together for nearly 50 years as Kenneth pastored Evangelical Friends churches in Indiana, Ohio and Arizona. She preceded him in death in January of 2004.
Kenneth is survived by a brother, Howard Jones, and his wife Delores, of Earlham, Iowa, and several nephews and nieces.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 5-9PM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. He will be laid to rest on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 9AM at Resthaven Park Cemetery. A memorial service celebrating Kenneth's life will follow on Tuesday at 10:30AM at Glencroft Auditorium, 8611 N 67th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85302.
