Fannie Margaret Palmer, 83, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away on May 21, 2024. She was born on March 22, 1941, in Patterson, Iowa, to the late Bryon and Helen Faux.

Fannie was the beloved wife of the late Bill Palmer and loving mother of Kelly Bartolac (Brad) from Kaukauna, Wisc., Mike Benge of Polk City and Mark (Sarah) Benge of Polk City. She adored her grandchildren, Christopher Dunmire, Logan Bartolac, Madeline Benge, and Brody Benge; and great-grandson, Hudson Benge. Fannie is also survived by her sister, Rose Benedict; brother, Donnie Faux; and many nieces and nephews.

In her career, Fannie worked as a waitress for over 20 years at Northside Café, Lally’s, and Johnnies. She was a dedicated member of the Methodist Church in Patterson, where she found solace and community.

Fannie was known for her sweet and caring nature, always willing to help others. She had a funny and feisty personality that endeared her to all who knew her. Fannie enjoyed shopping, dining out with family and friends, cooking, collecting cookbooks. Watching the Food Network, reading, and watching old western shows. She was also a member of the VFW in Winterset.

A celebration of Fannie’s life will be held on July 21 at Winterset City Park, North Shelter House from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
