December 10, 1946 - June 24, 2024

Terrill “Terri” Elaine Warren, 77, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born in Des Moines on December 10, 1946, the daughter of Clarence and Miriam (Poland) Wildin. After graduating from Interstate 35, she proceeded to earn her B.S. Degree from Iowa State University, majoring in elementary education.

Terrill was married to Larry Warren on July 3, 1970. Their marriage was blessed with three children and seven grandchildren: their son, Ken (Kelly) and grandchildren Gracie and Benjamin; daughter, Holly (Jason) Burgin and grandson Ryker Burgin; and daughter, Sherry (Kyle) Peterson and grandchildren Jaxon, Knox, Brex and Huxley.

In the spring of 1973, Terrill and Larry built a house in Indianola and moved in over Memorial Day weekend. They were invited to visit the Assembly of God Church in the fall and immediately felt an amazing sense of welcoming love. They formed wonderful friendships and committed to renewing their relationship to Jesus as Lord and Savior. They were soon serving in a variety of ways. The highlight of which was the opportunity to lead many of their Sunday school students to salvation.

In 1974, their lives took on a new phase, as their children started arriving. Terrill felt she had the best of motherhood situations as she was able to teach Chapter 1 Reading half time from 1974 to 1989, while taking a year off with the birth of each child. From 1989 to 2006, she taught 6th grade Language Arts full time. She continued to enjoy gatherings with many of her teacher friends throughout her retirement years.

In addition to her wonderful church and teacher friends, she formed great friendships with ladies across the community who shared her enjoyment of tennis, racquetball, pickleball, Duplicate Bridge and book club. For years Terrill and Larry took many golf vacations, and she also loved golfing with the ladies’ golf groups in Sun City and Indianola.

Larry and Terrill are also grateful for their many other special friends that they have made over the years, both here in Iowa and in Arizona. They have been amazed and delighted at the love and support they have received during their recent battles with their illnesses. Deepest thanks to All!

In addition to Larry, her husband of 50+ years and their children, Terrill is survived by her three brothers, Vin (Kathy) Wildin, Greg (Jolene) Wildin and Randal (Joyce) Wildin; also, Larry’s twin sister, Linda (Larry) Haynes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Miriam Wildin; Larry’s parents, Kenneth and Hazel Warren; as well as Larry’s brother, Ron and his wife Marge; and sister, Jeannette and her husband, Charlie Buckingham; plus, a special nephew, J.D. Wildin (son of Vin and Kathy).

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the First Assembly of God Church in Indianola. Visitation will be held, prior to services, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the church. Cremation will follow services and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date in the Montpelier Cemetery, Patterson.

Memorials, in memory of Terrill, may be given to First Assembly of God Church.
