Phillip "Phil" Miller, 76, of Creston died Monday, June 24, 2024, at his home in Creston. Per Phil's wishes, there will be no public services. Memorials can be made in his name and sent to his daughter, April (Miller) Reames at 104 NW Kendall Ave., Topeka, KS 66606.

Phillip John Miller, son of John D. Miller and Opal M. (Pettit) Miller, was born on March 9, 1948, in Creston, lowa. He attended Orient, Macksburg, Creston, and Zion schools. Phil married Paula Jo Pettit of Winterset, lowa, in 1974, in Creston. During their marriage Phil was an apartment manager outside of San Diego, Calif. Phil and Paula later divorced in 1984.

Phil enjoyed woodworking, making jewelry out of turquoise he mined, hitchhiking across the U.S., meeting new people and seeing old friends along his travels. Phil spent some time mining turquoise in Arizona and Colorado. He loved to go to Courtside Flea Market in Arizona to sell his turquoise and buy other jewelry. He loved to travel to Nevada.

Phil is survived by his daughters, April Miller (Chet) Reames, Alicia Miller and Jennifer (Stout) Latabani; grandchildren, Ava Hickey, Jesse (Bailey) Hickey, and Zebuliah Hannon; great-grand- children, Hunter Hickey and Morgan Hickey; nieces, Bess and Amy; nephew, Chip; great-niece, Melissa; brother-in-law, Geoffrey Bailey; sister, Carolyn (Don) Duskin; along with many other extended family members.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dean "Buzz' Miller; his sister, Charlotte Bailey; nephew, Keith Bailey; along with niece, Susan Bailey-Price.
