Mrs. Valda Bishop Dies in California

Mrs. Valda Bishop, who spent most of her life in St. Charles and Winterset, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, at a hospital in Pasadena, Calif. She had been in poor health for some time, and suffered a stroke last Friday.

Mrs. Bishop was well known in Madison county through her service as county recorder from 1935 to 1938.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the St. Charles Methodist church, with burial in the St. Charles cemetery. Among the survivors are two sons, Wayne and Charles Bishop.
