Roberta A. Dingman College, 73, of Creston, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at her home. Open visitation was Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25 in Creston. Memorials are to be established. Roberta Ann Dingman College, daughter of Walter Arthur Clark and Leta Marie (Stauffer) Clark, was born September 9, 1937 in Pine River, Minnesota. As a child she lived in the Lake of the Ozarks and Camdenton, Missouri before moving to Scranton. Roberta graduated from Scranton High School in 1955. She later attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines. On June 5, 1955 she was united in marriage to Richard A. Dingman in Scranton. They settle in Jefferson where she was a homemaker before moving to Madrid where she worked as a waitress for Johnny Vets Club in Des Moines. In 1971, they moved to Earlham for the next eight years. Roberta then moved to Truman, Minn., where she worked as a waitress at Happy Chef. In 1983 they moved to Macksburg where she worked for Happy Chef in Creston. Richard died in 1986.

On October 20, 1986 Roberta and Jerry College were married in Nashua, Iowa. They moved to Earlham in 1987 and Roberta worked for Greyhound, Sears Credit. She also owned and operated an antique shop in DeSoto until retiring in September 1995. She then moved to Bullhead City, Ariz., until 2006 when she moved to Creston. She was an avid baseball fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and collected baseball cards.

Roberta is survived by two daughters, Michelle Hartman of Afton and Patricia (husband Greg) Schroeder of Indianola; four sons, Michael Dingman of Des Moines, Scott Dingman of Creston, Tim (wife Annette) Dingman of Kansas City, MO and Kenny (wife Jen) Dingman of Creston; eleven grandchildren: Aaron Dingman of California, Ashley Parsons Sara Hartman of Denver, CO, Tony Hartman of Mission, Kan., Ben Dingman of Lincoln, Neb., Elizabeth Dingman, Jessica Dingman and Laura Dingman all of Kansas City, MO., and Brock Dingman of Creston; six great grandchildren and two step grandchildren: Connor Kinkade and Corrisa Kinkade, both of Creston. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Richard Dingman and Jerry College; and two granddaughters Maggie and Grace Dingman. Professional arrangements by Powers Funeral Home in Creston.
