Page 26Services planned for retired teacher
Funeral services for Naomi Frances Timmons, 70, a retired Albuquerque teacher, will be at the Fitzgerald and Son Funeral chapel Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Mrs. Timmons, an Albuquerque resident for 25 years, died at a local hospital Friday after a sudden illness.
She taught a Lavaland Elementary School for 10 years before retiring in 1971. She was a member of the National Education Association and the New Mexico Retired Teachers Association and the Zia Roamer-Good Sam Club, an organization of owners of recreational vehicles, and the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees Unit 138. Mrs. Timmons also belonged to the Harwood United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Samuel J. Timmons, who survives her, was employed by the Santa Fe Railway in passenger car service for more than 46 years.
Also surviving are two sons, James Timmons of Albuquerque and Ray Timmons of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Sherril of Arlington, Texas, and Mrs. Betty Lytle of Westminster, Colo.; one brother, A.R. Allen, of Vaughn N.M., 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Clovis in Mission Garden of Memories Wednesday at 1 p.m. Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis will be in charge of arrangements there.
