Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral HomeBorn in Barney, Iowa to Ennis and Ida Lint. He lived in Iowa for a few years, then moved to California.
He grew up enjoying fishing, hunting and gold panning along with doing odd jobs and working the fruit harvest to help make ends meet.
He enlisted in the Army in 1941 to serve his country fighting his way across Europe in a heavy armored division driving a half-track. After the war he went to Barber school and got a job cutting hair at Camp Hanford. In 1952, he partnered up with two friends, Charlie Courtney and Marvin Faris and opened the Leader Barber Shop in Uptown Richland. After cutting hair for many years, he sold-out in 1969 and went to work for Battelle N.W. in the mail room. He retired from Battelle in December 1988 and enjoyed world travel and being with family and friends.
Wendell leaves behind four children; Lennie (Jean) Lint, Keith (Linda) Lint, Bill (Robin) Lint and Karen (Pat) VanPelt; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Wendell also leaves behind his extended family. The late Joyce Sanders and children; Lenda Sutton, Diane (Russ) Smith, Connie (Bruce) Burns, Doug (Jeanne) Sutton and Scott (Lori) Sanders, 16 grand- children and 27 great grand- children.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2019 at Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home from 12:00- 8:00 PM. Graveside service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, both in Kennewick. Celebration of Life to follow graveside service at Hillspring Church 1153 Gage Blvd in Richland at 12:30 PM.
