Gary Scott Seaton, 66, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Visitation will be from 3-5PM, Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Veterans Reception Center (910 Main Street Van Meter, Iowa 50261). Burial will take place at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery privately with Gary’s family.

Gary was born May 14, 1957, in Des Moines to Virgil and Pauline (Thompson) Seaton. He graduated from Earlham Community High School in 1977. Gary enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on October 25, 1977, and was honorably discharged on November 7, 1981. He worked in manufacturing for a majority of his life in various positions.
Gary enjoyed watching Nascar races, playing cribbage, drawing and visiting with his friends and family.

He will be missed by his siblings: Gaye (Ron) Hougham of Earlham, IA, and Greg (Jodie) Seaton of Kearny, MO; along with several nephews and nieces: Mike Kasal and his daughter, Elisabeth of West Des Moines, IA; Brett (Kelli) Kasal and their son, Kaden of Earlham, IA; Derrick Seaton of Kearney, MO; Allison (Brennen) Day of Kansas City, MO; Danielle Hougham of Earlham, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Pauline Seaton and nephew, Ryan Hougham.
