Verlin L. "Doug" Douglas, 73, of 219 Fourth St. died of a heart ailment Friday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Douglas was born in Truro and lived in the Des Moines area all his life. He had been a pressman at Grip-Tite, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include two brothers, Marvin and Larry, both of Des Moines; and three sisters, Floy Hallway of Des Moines, Jean Clopton of Winterset and Arlene Holman of Nikiski, Alaska. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
