Coy Waltz, 66, of Winterset, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at his home.

A visitation where family will be present to greet friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2023, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.

Coy Edward Waltz was born in Winterset, Iowa on March 1, 1957, the son of Joseph Jr. and Dawn (Wambold) Waltz. He graduated from Winterset in 1975 and was united in marriage to Lola Butcher in Winterset on February 1, 1980.

Coy was an over the road truck driver and achieved the million mile driver status with Werner. He also worked for McAninch and was part of the Local 234 Union. In his later years, he helped build wind turbines.

Coy was a stubborn man. He always had a good joke, liked relaxing, motorcycle riding and having a beer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, and playing trivia at the bar. He also liked watching Wheel of Fortune, loved his kitties and most of all loved family get-togethers.

He is survived by his children, Heather (Andrew) Clark, Tiffeny (Joshua) Carpenter, and Joseph (Kayla) Waltz; siblings, Bingta (Kelly) McCall, Cae Farrow, Mike (Sheila) Waltz, Kevin Waltz, David (Debbie) Waltz, and Bill (Charlye) Hull; 8 grandchildren, Emma, Alivia, Abigail, Nevaeh, Hank, Chloe, Iris, Melody, and Lilith; special friend, Melissa Enrst; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Coy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Jr. and Dawn; and his wife,Lola.
