Ronald D. Falke was born June 25, 1950, in Bogard, Missouri, to the late Roy and Joan Falke. He and his two brothers and the family lived in Missouri until Ron was 13 and then moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Ron graduated in 1968 from Des Moines Technical High School. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam War in 1969. When he returned home, he married LeaAnne Pedersen on May 7, 1971. After being married for a short time, they decided to start a family and were blessed with five children.
Ron had a thriving construction business for about 30 years. He then worked for BB&P driving a truck until he retired. Some of the things Ron enjoyed doing in his spare time were woodworking, fishing, hunting, riding horses, and socializing, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He loved small country living and joking around with people and making them laugh. Ron was a man of many questions and hated big words. He loved leaving little notes for his wife to find first thing in the morning. Helping others with anything and having a huge heart was something many knew about him. Ron enjoyed life to the fullest and loved learning new things. He enjoyed encouraging others and teaching them new skills. He had a special knack for making people laugh and brightening their day with his humor and kindness.
Ron will be missed by his wife, LeaAnne Falke of Winterset; his daughters, Lora Eastman (Tony) of Indianola, Kelly McKinney (Wade) of Winterset, Brenda Hair (Tony) of Adel; his sons, Dan Falke (Amy) of Strafford, MO, and David Falke (Stacey) of Winterset. He will also be remembered by his 15 grandchildren, Mikayla (Eastman) Lemons, Lexi (Eastman) Williams, Blake Eastman, Kendra McKinney, Bethany McKinney, Justin McKinney, Brooklynn McKinney, Tanya (McKinney) Kading, Travis Falke, Lucas Falke, Mathew Falke, Faithlyn Falke, Maxwell Falke, Addilyn Falke, and Irelyn Falke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Joan Falke; and brothers, Donnie Falke and Mark Falke.
