FIELDER – Fred Fielder, 81, of 3521 Bales, died today at his home after a long illness. He was a retired farmer.

He was born in Galesburg, Ill., and has lived here 29 years. Mr. Fielder was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He was a member of the Baptist church.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Vieth of the home, and Mrs. Jennie Pearl Batts, 3426 East Forty-fifth terrace; a brother, Clyde Fielder, Phillipsburg, Kas.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 7 o’clock Wednesday night at the Wilks chapel; burial in Patterson, Ia.

Transcriber's note: It appears that his connection to Madison County is that his wife was born and raised there and is buried in the McGinnis Cemetery as is he. His middle name is taken from his WWI Draft Registration.
