DELTA - Mrs. Julia Alvina King, 87, died about 3 p.m. Saturday in the Delvista Nursing Home. She had been a patient there about a year.
Coming from Oklahoma, Mrs. King had been a resident of Delta since 1954. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
The former Julia Alvina Pyers, she was born April 18, 1881, at Van Meter, Iowa, and was married there Dec. 22, 1897, to George Edward King. Mr. King died in March 1944. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W. C. (Leota) Berry of Delta; a grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
________________________Transcriber's note: Per Census and Marriage Records, the deceased was born, raised, and married in Jefferson Township, Madison County. In the last sentence of the obituary, "a grandchildren" probably should be "a grandchild".
