Jennie McKibben, eldest child of William and Mary Mark, was born Sept. 17, 1858 in Liveston county, Mo., and departed this life at her home in Earlham Friday, May 29 at the age of 83 years, eight months and 12 days.
She moved with her parents in her early childhood to a farm near De Soto in Dallas County where they resided for a number of years. On July 20, 1876 she was married to Gideon S. McKibben and they were the parents of 11 children, two of whom preceded her in death, Gertrude in 1900 and Pearl Wright in 1927.
They made their home on a farm near Earlham, residing there until the death of Mr. McKibben in 1916. She then moved to Earlham where she remained until her death. She united with the United Brethren church, and remained a faithful member until moving to Earlham when she transferred her membership to the Methodist church.
She is survived by her children, Ed of Gravette, Ark.; Dewey of Lewellen, Nebr.; Wilda Morse of near Patterson; Everett, Harry, Myrtle Ramsey, Esther McCleary, Deane Armstrong and Nita all living in the Earlham vicinity, one brother, Frank; a sister, Etta, of California, a brother Will and 27 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
