Funeral Services Held Tue. For Mrs. Miles

Funeral services were held last Tuesday at the Methodist church in St. Charles for Mrs. Lillie Martin Miles who died Sunday following a short illness. Interment was made in Indianola

When two years of age she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Martin from Illinois and settled on a farm four miles south of St. Charles. Following her graduation from St. Charles high school she attended Monmouth college and Tarkio College. She taught for several years in the Madison and Warren county schools and later taught in the Indianola and Waterloo schools. She then was united in marriage to William Miles of Promise City and continued to teach there for some time.

Following the death of her husband in 1939 she came to St. Charles where she resided up to the time of her death.

She is survived by three brothers, Weede Martin of Cromwell, Samuel Martin of Murdo, N. D.; and Frank Martin of Roosevelt, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Martin of Des Moines and Mrs. Margaret Wright of Spring, Texas, and a foster daughter, Mrs. Janice Clark of Des Moines.
