Suzanne Poor, age 69, of Winterset, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Suzanne Marie was born in Clarion, Iowa, on March 31, 1954, to the late Keith and Sally (Gillespie) Poor.

Suzanne had a particular fondness for quilting and sewing, using her expertise to inspire and educate others in the art of creating beautiful fabric works.

Nature held a special place in Suzanne's heart, and she found solace and beauty in the world around her. She adored birds and spent countless hours observing her flower garden.

Suzanne was united in a common-law marriage to Mohhammd “Moe” Shafi, who doted on her. They spent many years together in California before making the move to Iowa. Their bond was built on mutual respect and support, creating a strong foundation for their partnership.

In accordance with Suzanne's wishes, there will be no formal services held. Instead, let us remember her vibrant spirit, her passion for teaching, and her dedication to sharing her talents with others. Suzanne leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, creativity, and love.

She is survived by her beloved partner, Moe Shafi, as well as other family members, friends, and students whose lives were touched by her generosity and wisdom. Though she is no longer with us, Suzanne's impact will continue to inspire and bring joy to all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

May she rest in peace, forever remembered for her kindness, her love for nature, and her unwavering dedication to sharing her gifts with the world.
