Charles F. Piatt Funeral is Held

Funeral services for Charles F. Piatt were held at the First Baptist church Monday afternoon with the Rev. T. C. Jensen, pastor of the church in charge. Mrs. Muriel Hill and Mrs. Rachel Wormhoudt sang three numbers with Miss Judith Peterson the accompanist.

Charles Frank Piatt died at 6:15 a.m. Friday, August 13, 1937 at his home, 1011 East Madison street of heart disease. He is survived by a wife and four sons, Bruce, Vern, Denver and Mace. He was preceded in death by three children, Lane, Ross and Custer.

Two brothers, Arthur of Fort Collins, Colo. and John of Winterset, and two sisters, Mrs. Tom Penn of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. John Chamness of Guthrie, Okla. survive also.

Mr. Piatt was born in Henry county on June 3, 1869. He moved with his parents to Kansas and when 12 moved with his family to Dexter, Ia. where he grew to manhood.

On August 22, 1906, he and Miss Beulah Ethel McLarnand of Winterset were married. In 1921, Mr. Piatt joined the Church of Christ in Winterset. In 1922 the family moved to New London and four years later came to Mt. Pleasant where they have since resided.
