County Briefs – Peru

Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest Balius, who died Friday at the University hospital, following an illness of several weeks, were held Sunday afternoon from the Peru Methodist church, conducted by rev. Wilkins and burial was in the Peru cemetery.

MRS. E. BALIUS DIES AT IOWA CITY FRIDAY

Services for Mrs. Ernest Balius, 39, who died Friday at the University hospital in Iowa City, were held Sunday afternoon at the Peru Methodist church conducted by the rev. I. G. Wilkins; burial was in the Peru cemetery. Mrs. Balius had been ill several weeks.

Grace Lena McKee, daughter of Clark and Emma McKee, was born June 2, 1897 at Afton. She leaves her husband, three children, Eugene, June and Lola; three brothers, Owen McKee of Paradise, California; Leo McKee of Backoo, North Dakota; and Lew McKee of Afton; six sisters, Stella Davidson of Toronot, California; Nina Oakley of Eldorado, Kansas; Laura Wright of Bedford; Florence Penland of Clarinda; Elsie Koontz of Creston; and Minnie Ziegler of Des Moines. A brother and a sister are deceased.
