Dayna Decker-Nuzum, 78, passed away at her home in Winterset on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lorimor Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Camp Courageous in memory of Dayna. Dayna was born on August 23, 1944 in Tacoma, Washington to Myers and Eleanor (Daggett) Farlow. She graduated from East Union High School, Lorimor Center in 1963. She worked as a supervisor with Blue Cross, Blue Shield for many years. She was married to Joseph Decker on May 5, 1961. The two were married for 45 years until him passing and later remarried, Raymond Nuzum on June 28, 2008. Dayna was a member of the Pythian Sisters, Redeemer Church, Order of the Easter Star, Royal Neighbors, and the Red Hat Society.

Dayna was an avid reader. She enjoyed to crochet, dance and play cards in her free time. Traveling was one of her favorite things to do. She would go wherever the car let her drive. She made many friends during her travels and never met a stranger. Dayna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved to watch her grandkids and great grandkids participate in the many activities they were involved in.

Dayna is survived by her sister, Linda Thornburg; three children, Dayna “Joy” (Dennis) Brown, Fonda (Jason) Bradford, and Curtis Decker; Ray Nuzum’s family; 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Decker; second husband, Ray Nuzum; brother, Eldred, Jerry, Kenneth, and Randy Farlow; and brother-in-law, Ron Thornburg.
