Hutchinson, KansasBetty L. Reinert, age 95, of Hester Care Center, passed peacefully March 31, 2023, at Hospice House. She was born March 23, 1928, in Redfield, Iowa, to Clair and Effie (Kisling) Miller.
Betty graduated from high school in Redfield, IA. She and her husband, Carroll, moved to Hutchinson from Wichita, Kansas in 1960. Betty was the most loving, generous, and gracious person! She was a selfless caregiver for her husband for many years while he was ill. Betty was a fantastic cook and baker, wonderful homemaker, and enjoyed playing bridge and bingo. Betty was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, UANDI Study Club, and the Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary. In addition, she was a Sunday school teacher and Brownie leader.
On August 24, 1947, Betty married Carroll D. Reinert, in Redfield, Iowa. He passed away in November of 2014. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage.
Betty is survived by: daughters, Patty Bass of Hutchinson; Ellen (Roger) Shook of Lakewood, CO: grandchildren, Courtney Shook and Travis Shook of Wheat Ridge, CO; Jeremy Bass of Hutchinson; and sisters, Joann Heldenbrand and Jeannette Clark of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Dean Miller, Donald Miller, and Jerry Miller; and son-in-law, David Bass.
To honor Betty's wishes, there will be no services.
Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to the Hazel (Reinert) Collier Employee Scholarship Fund at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
