They spent 66 happy years married and raised a family, of whom he loved dearly.

Art worked for John Deere for 35 years, as an inventory specialist. He and his wife Laura, were active members of First Federated Church, in Des Moines, for many years. He enjoyed cars and loved working on them. In life, he was a true caregiver. He helped care for his grandchildren when they were young and cared for his wife for many years, when she became ill.

Art is survived by his daughters, Annette (David) Fath and Karen (Rick) Hadden; grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh) Staple, Melanie (Shawn) Chubb, Mary (George) Thompson and Lindsay LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Stella, Fox, Lexi, Ryker, Beckett, Kyler and Beatrice; and sister, Janie Van Zyl.
