Shawn Gibson, 49, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was a strong believer in her Savior Jesus Christ. As she went to sleep, Jesus came and escorted her home to her heavenly Father.

Shawn was a graduate of Winterset High School and obtained her nursing degree at Southwestern Community College. She was a nurse at South Care Center and most recently at Azria Health in Winterset. She loved her residents immensely and found great humor and laughter while talking and interacting with each of them.

She was extremely competitive when it came to games and contests with her brothers. Nothing made her happier than to beat any one of them. She had a unique and funny sense of humor! She loved to play practical jokes and tease her brothers, laughing to the point of tears when one of the boys figured out she had “got them”.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill K. Gibson. She is survived by her mother, Marcia Gibson; brothers, Brian (Annette) Gibson, Bill (Shelly) Gibson, and Jay (Tawyne) Gibson.

She will be missed but celebrated by her family.
