Norma J. Comp, 79, of Waukee, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. Family will greet friends prior, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Refreshments and a time of fellowship will follow the service. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.

Norma Jean was born in Winterset, Iowa on March 6, 1944, the daughter of George and Janice (Chickering) Comp. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1962 and moved to Des Moines. She worked as a customer service representative and an accountant, working for AT&T, Qwest, and Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 35 years.

Norma enjoyed golfing and going to bridge club. She also liked to watch the Hawkeyes and Cyclones and loved following her nieces and nephews school activities. She greatly enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Diane (Michael) Kaut, Lynn (David) Block, Blaine (Sheri) Morrissey, Nathan (Lauren) Morrissey, and many great nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Brian Morrissey.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, George and Janice (Chickering) Comp, and sisters, Sharon Vander Linden and Linda Morrissey.
