Richard Cook died last Monday and was buried in Bear Creek cemetery on Tuesday, the funeral services being held from the Conservative Friends church.

Deceased was born in Parks county, Indiana, in 1831, where he grew to manhood. Some fifty years ago he came to Madison county, Iowa, and he lived in this vicinity ever since. He was a quiet, industrious man and a good citizen.

For many years he had been in failing health and his death was no surprise to his friends. He had no children and his wife died many years ago. He was a brother to Elkanah Cook of this place.
