Evelyn Irene McCoy, age 95, of Glenwood, died March 21, 2008, at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at the Jefferson Cemetery in Van Meter. Pastor Duane Miller officiated.

She was born August 17, 1912 in Madison County, to Frank and Ida Mae (Walker) McCleary.

She was married to Herman McCoy in 1950. They lived on a farm in Mills County. They also resided in Madison County, Omaha and Glenwood. While living in Omaha, she was employed at Clarkson Hospital. In Glenwood, she was a receptionist for Dr. DeYoung until his retirement. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Herman in 1983; one brother; and two sisters.

She is survived by nieces, Vernal Addy of Winterset; Bonnie Oberender of Altoona; LaVaun Monroe of Chicago, Ill.; Peggy Swanson of Glenwood; nephew, Frank McCleary of Des Moines; cousins and friends.

Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
