June 26, 1943 - December 29, 2022

Donald R. Stover, 79, passed away on December 27, 2022, in Creston, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM - 1 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Urbandale. There will be a funeral service at 1 PM at the funeral home with burial following at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Donald Rondy Stover was born June 26, 1943, at home, in Beckley, West Virginia to Joseph Donald and Laura Mae (Thompson) Stover. Don was in the last graduating class from Truro High School. He attended Iowa State before he enlisted in the United States Army. He served as Army Intelligence in Saigon, South Vietnam. Upon his return to the states, he met and married Peggy Christensen on July 15, 1966. Don and Peg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before her passing in 2017.

Don worked for Bell Telephone before joining AM Multigraphics as Service Manager. Don had almost 40 years with the company and was a top-rated service manager. Don then worked for Trans-Lux Fair-Play as National Service Manager until his retirement in 2010.

Don enjoyed the company of family and friends. He liked going out of eat, and playing cards at home. He liked going to the casino and old cars. When Don was at home you could find him in "his" recliner either reading a good book or watching a western. Don and Peg attended the Buddy Holly Reunion, every year, in Clear Lake.

Don leaves behind his daughters, Lori Sandblom and Jodi (Skip) Rushing; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Sandblom, Sara Rushing, Michael (Trisha) Sandblom, Nicholas Adams, Jacob Rushing, Lucas Rushing, Ben Rushing; great grandchildren, Brian Sandblom, Gavin Sandblom, Haley Sandblom and Colton Sandblom; his siblings, Bonnie (Dave) Thomas and Dorsey (Leslie) Stover and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many longtime friends.

Preceded in death are his wife, Peg Stover; grandson, Matthew Sandblom; his parents; his sister, Della Stover and brother, Raymond Stover.
