Christina Wilhelmina Vaudt, daughter of Louis and Minnie Vaudt, was born in Waterloo, Monroe county, Illinois, on January 27, 1864 and passed from this life into the life immortal at her home in De Soto, Iowa, on Monday, March 12, 1934 at 6 a. m.
Mrs. Armstrong was baptized in the Lutheran church at Warburg, Illinois
She came to Dexter from her home in Illinois when she was about twelve years of age and she lived in Dexter for a number of years, later moving with her family to Stuart, Iowa.
On December 9, 1883, she was united in marriage to John R. Armstrong in Stuart, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong moved to this community in 1908 and they have made their home in the country or in the town of De Soto since that time.
Soon after their marriage, Mrs. Armstrong united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Stuart. She has been a faithful and loyal member of the church since she united with it.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, five children, four brothers, twenty-two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The children are: Albert L. of Dexter; Paul W. of Earlham; John L. of Winterset; Mrs. Nora Jensen of De Soto and Mrs. Lucille Bond of De Soto. Two children, Earl and Minnie preceded their mother in death.
The brothers are: Will Vaudt of Livermore, Iowa; August Vaudt and Herman Vaudt of Whittemore, Iowa; and Albert Vaudt of Bode, Iowa.
