Jeri Merlene Stephenson, daughter of Merle and Ruby Darlene (See) Bailey was born August 5, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa and went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at her home in St. Charles, Iowa at 83 years of age.

Jeri grew up in Des Moines and was united in marriage to Harold Clifford Stephenson on August 10, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa and 3 children blessed this union, Clifford, Theresa, Sue and one adopted daughter Melissa. Jeri and Clifford moved to St. Charles in 1964 and have enjoyed being supporters of their church and community and raising their family in St. Charles.

Jeri was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She helped as a cook for the St. Charles Day Care for many years. Jeri enjoyed singing and playing her guitar, crocheting, working cross-word puzzle books, antiquing with her husband, and spending time with family and friends. She was a very active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles. She helped many years, teaching with children's Sunday school, vacation Bible school, assistant Christmas program director, prayer warrior and auditor of the financials. She will be greatly missed by many.

Those relatives who preceded Jeri in death were her parents, Merle and Ruby Bailey, in-laws, Harold E. and Burla Raye Stephenson, brothers, Dennis "Butch", Donald and David Bailey, and brother-in-law, Elwood Palmer.

Jeri leaves to cherish her memory; loving husband of 66 years, Harold "Clifford" Stephenson of Saint Charles, son, Clifford (Kathy) Stephenson of Saint Charles, daughter, Theresa (Jim) Anderson of Saint Charles, daughter, Sue Stephenson of Saint Charles, daughter, Melissa Mee of Meridian, Idaho, grandchildren and great-grandchildren Kelly (Dan) Engleman of Nevada, Emily (Jordan) Gibson and their son Karson of Nevada, Joseph Engleman of Ames, Josh (Amy) Anderson and their children, Madelynne, Noah, Isaiah,and Ella of Saint Charles, Dean (Ahnada) Stephenson and their children, Anberlin, Juliana and Emery of Altoona, Angela (Paul) DeYarman and their children Kade, Remi and Isla of Urbandale, Shana Stephenson of Indianola, Josh (Cristal) Klipping and their children Michael and Uriah of Windsor Heights, Jessica (Josh) Meis and their children Lucy, Ellie and Henry of Norwalk, Nicole (Zach) Lacy of Ogden, Utah, brother, Daryl (Kathy) Bailey, sisters-in-law, Marilyn Bailey, JoAnn (Paul) Kitt, and Elizabeth Palmer, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Family will greet friends Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles from 5:00 until 8:00 pm

Services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, Wednesday January 4, 2023 at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to her family to be ear-marked to specific non-profit organizations at a later date.
