A Celebration of Life Gathering for Evelyn Kay Lull, 70, of St. Charles, who passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at home, will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Today we honor the life of our mom, Kay Lull. She was a truly amazing woman who was the kindest, goofiest, most loving person in the world.

She was our best friend and she dedicated her life to family and making sure we were supported in whatever we did and that we never felt anything other than loved.

She sacrificed more than we will ever know and always put everyone before herself. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know her, felt her warmth and happiness she brought to this world.

Mom enjoyed 28 years of driving a school bus for I-35. She was more than a driver to most everyone and more like a second mom, a mentor, a good friend and always offered advice to lead them on a good path. Riding her bus was a great time because treats and soda were allowed and "musical seats'' was a common game played. She wanted each ride home to be fun and memorable.

Mom also spent many years working as a teller at Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Saint Charles. She enjoyed visiting with everyone as they came in.

We loved her more than words could possibly say and she will live on in our hearts forever more.

Survivors include her husband, Steve of 51 years; children, Stephanie (Travis) Christensen, Jennifer Lull, Tresa Lull, and Christina Lull; grandchildren, Caleb Lull, Kaitlin Christensen, Ellie Herring, Aiden Herring and Evan Herring; siblings, Fran (Ed) Evans, Johnnie (Darrel) Lourens, Mary Petro, Alice Branson, and Leroy (Marie) Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wanda Miller, siblings, Patsy Myers and Matt Lee Miller, and Aunt Helen.
