Ivan Nelson Faux

Ivan Faux, age 88, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 10, 2022. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16th at McLaren's Funeral Chapel followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery. A visitation will be the night before from 5 - 7 pm at McLaren's.

Ivan was born January 5, 1934, in Winterset, Iowa to George and Ila (Stowell) Faux. His family moved to Des Moines when he was young and he met the love of his life, Agnes Waddell, while attending East High School and were married in 1954.

Ivan was drafted into the Army and served most of that time in Germany. His main duty was driving tanks. He and his wife came back from Germany after his 2 years of service and settled in Des Moines, Iowa.

He worked as a truck driver at Bruce Motor Freight for most of his career and was a member of Teamsters Local 147. Ivan enjoyed woodworking, and building things and was always taking on remodeling projects for friends and family.

Ivan is survived by his daughters, Marcia (Gary) Nicols, Lisa (AJ) Drew, and Laura (Kevin) Clement; brother, Charles Faux; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, and four brothers. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at mclarensresthavenchapel.com for the Faux family.
