Laura Wood Atchison (sic)

Mrs. Adkison, wife of the late Albert H. Adkison, was born in Ohio, May 12, 1851. In early girlhood she came with her mother, Mrs. Caroline Wood, to Winterset, Iowa.

A few years after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Adkison removed to Kansas, later to Salt Lake city, and in 1906 they went to Oakland, California, which they made their home until called away by death.

Mrs. Adkison steadily failed in health the past few years, the past year seldom leaving her home because of rheumatism and a complication of ailments. Soon after the death of her husband, although bearing up bravely in her loneliness, she began to fail rapidly, and June 2nd she had a stroke of paralysis that left her helpless. Slowly life ebbed away until at midnight, June 9th the end came. Just twelve weeks after her husband was laid in the cemetery the same kind hands placed her by his side.

There are two brothers, George and Willis Wood of Colorado, and the only son, Harry Adkison of Richmond, California.
