James Riley Dies at Home Saturday Night

James Riley, route 1, died at 9:30 Saturday night, and funeral arrangements await the arrival here of relatives. The body Is at Martins Mortuary. Mr. Riley was 74 years old.

He was born June 19, 1877, in Madison County, Ia., and was married in Iowa Sept. 29, 1897, to Miss Carrie Hardy. The couple engaged in farming, and moved to Colorado in 1919 to the Collbran area. They lived at Collbran five years, and then went to California for two years, moving back to Colorado and settling in Grand Junction after the short stay on the coast. Mr. Riley engaged in farming here since that time.

Survivors include the wife, Carrie, three sons and a daughter, James Wilson Riley, Walnut Creek, Calif.; Marie Riley Johnson, Concord, Calif.; Harold William Riley, Grand Junction; and Lehane Riley, Mountain Home, Ark. Also surviving are six grandchildren and two brothers and a sister. The brothers are William Riley of Winterset, Ia.; and George Riley of Des Moines, Ia., and the sister is Lottie Dyer, Des Moines, Ia.
