ACCIDENTLY SHOT

Hubert Angevine Accidently Shot By His Brother at La Jara, Colorado

The body of Hubert Angevine, the sixteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Angevine of La Jara, Colorado, was brought here for burial Monday morning. The boy was accidently shot Wednesday of last week by his brother.

Mr. and Mrs. Angevine live a short distance out of La Jara. The boy had taken his brother hunting and was approaching a neighbor’s house accompanied by two other boys. The younger brother, a lad of eight, was carrying the only gun, a Winchester automatic 22. The little fellow started to hand Hubert the gun accidently discharging it. The ball struck Hubert in the left temple and tore through the brain fracturing the skull at the back of his head. He was picked up by the woman of the house but never spoke, dying in about half an hour.

Hubert was born in Winterset and is well remembered by many Winterset boys and girls. Mr. and Mrs. Angevine and the little boy accompanied the body here.
