Mrs. Wm. Dunlap passed away Sunday afternoon in a way so unexpected that her nearest loved ones had no forewarning of the slimness of the cord that bound her existence to things earthly. After concluding the midday meal she complained of weariness and reclined upon a lounge; and when next seen her body was lifeless and her soul had taken flight to the distant country. The Echo joins with the solicitude of many friends for the bereaved family. The life history of the good woman follows:

Harriett E. Mathews was born in Genadenhooden, Ohio, Aug. 8, 1856 and died Aug. 14, 1910, at her home near Earlham, Iowa, aged 64 years, 6 days.

She united with the M. E. church in girlhood and lived a devoted christian life until her death. On Nov. 26, 1868 she was married to Wm. Dunlap at Oneida, Ill., and resided at Rio, Ill., until 1886 when with her husband she moved to Earlham, Iowa, where they have since lived. One child, Minnie, was given to this home, but our Lord in his wisdom called her home in early childhood.

Mrs. Dunlap leaves to mourn her loss two nieces Mrs. Cora Camp, of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Hattie Tompkins, of Perry, Iowa, a sister-in-law Mrs. R. Mathews and a beloved and devoted husband.

We wish to extend our thanks to our many kind friends and neighbors who have assisted us in our sad hours of bereavement. --------Hattie E. Tomkins
