Mrs. William Pickens died Sunday night of cancer of the stomach. She had been confined to her room and bed since about Christmas. In her death the family loses the loving care of Mother; the husband a kind, conscientious helpmate and the community a great benefactress.
She was one to whom to know was but to admire for her gentle, Christian spririt and indomitable will of ever being found going about doing good, and now to that family Mother is no more. She has passed through the gates which know no opening until the Judgment Day. May those who are left behind say “The Lord has given and has taken away. Blessed be His name.” And may it be that the brightest picture of life that shall in the future adorn the walls of memory may be of the many remembrances of an undying desire of the mother to be all that nature intended she should be, womanly of heart, true, and full of sympathy. We extend the bereaved ones our sincerest sympathy.
