Winterset, IowaAnna Grace (Hayden) Faux, age 96, was born July 27, 1926 in Madison County, Iowa to Teddy and Regina (Hircock) Hayden. She left this life on August 15, 2022.
Anna grew up in Madison County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Elton T. Faux in 1947 in Osceola, Iowa. Upon her marriage, she became a stepmom to five sons, age three to eleven. They were blessed with a daughter, Kathy Elizabeth.
Upon her marriage, Anna lived on a farm north of Patterson, Iowa. She later moved to town. Anna served as City Clerk and as a Councilmember for the City of Patterson for several years. She owned and managed a trailer park in Patterson from 1974 to 1984. She also worked as a cook for the Patterson school and worked at the Patterson Post Office. She was honored as the Winterset Covered Bridge Parade Grand Marshall in 1984.
Anna moved to Leon, Iowa, in 1991, where she lived until 2008, when she moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa. She later lived with her daughter, Kathy, and son-in-law, Don, in Ottumwa, Iowa, until her passing. Anna was an avid walker and reader and could often be found with a word search book in hand.
Anna was preceeded in death by her parents, Teddy and Regina (Hircock) Hayden; husband, Elton Faux; infant son, Kenneth Gayle; stepsons, Willis Faux, Stan Faux, and Tom Faux; granddaughter, Kim Hewlett; siblings, Faye Palmer, Flo Morrison, Keith Hayden, Merrill Hayden, Beulah Harrison, Helen Salsbury, and Marjorie Gallentine.
Left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kathy (Don) Watson of Ottumwa; grandson, Dan Cunningham of Truro; great-grandsons, Kolton Hewlett of Atlantic and Kolby Hewlett of Leon; stepsons, Dale (Sheryl) Faux of Patterson and Jack (Ivana) Faux of Augusta, GA; sister, Noreen (Scott) Zimmermon of Idaho; and many step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation. Online condolences may be left to the family at caldwellparrish.com.
