The remains of Mrs. Chas. Dewey, residing near Worthington, were sent to Avoca Tuesday for burial in her home town. Mrs. Dewey has been ill for some time and passed to the beyond Monday morning. The Echo extends its sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

Page 10Emma May Converse was born in xxx county, Iowa March 16th 1863 and departed this life at June 27, 1910, having in her pilgrimage lived 47 years, one month, and 27 days. She came to Pottawattamie Co. in 1872. Miss Converse and Mr. Charles Dewey were united in marriage March 24th 1884.
Mrs. Dewey leaves, to mourn her departure, her husband, three daughters, Ethel who is 24 year old, married and living in South Dakota, Laura, 16, Evelyn, 12 and the only living son George 10 years old. She also leaves her father, one brother and three sisters.
While Mrs. Dewey never belonged to the Church, in the early part of her sickness decided for the Saviour, sought for forgiveness and passed, when rational, much time in prayer and in singing, and expressed her assurance of going to meet her infant child in Heaven.
The funeral took place June 29th at the home of her father, about two and one half miles east of Hancock, Iowa, conducted by the pastor of the M.E. Church of Hancock; the music was furnished by the choir of the above church. the funeral was attended by a large assembly of sympathizing friends and neighbors, the most of them accompanying the remains to Avoca where they were laid to rest by the side of her infant sone.
