Death May 16 of Raymond E. Penn

A native of Madison County, Raymond E. Penn died Sunday, May 16, 1976, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was 70 years of age.

The son of Frank and Clara Penn, Raymond Penn was born December 5, 1905. His marriage to Cleo Wallace took place September 22, 1926, in Winterset. The couple farmed near Patterson and Winterset until 1948 when they moved south of DeSoto and then to Adel after retirement.

Surviving Mr. Penn is his wife, Cleo, a son, Larry Penn of Adel, and two grandchildren. Also two sisters, Velma Phipps of Osceola, Iowa and Delpha Costello of Boston, Massachusetts, and brother, William Penn of Winterset.

Mr. Penn was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Ronald, an infant daughter, Wanda, and a brother, Ivan Penn of Winterset.

Funeral services for Raymond Penn were conducted Wednesday, May 19 at 10 a.m. from the Adel United Methodist Church, Rev. A.T. Potter officiating.
