Carol Ann Faux, 80, of Patterson, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Olathe, Kansas.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2022 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Easter Seals Iowa.

Carol Ann (Davis) Faux, was born in Winterset, Iowa on March 12, 1942, the daughter of Benjamin and Mildred (Sampson) Davis. Carol had a nickname, Sally Ann. For whatever reason, her mother would call her Sally Ann rather than the name she had given her. She still used the name on her Facebook account.

She was united in marriage to Stanley Faux on April 1, 1959 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the mother of six children and stayed at home until the children were mostly in school. She then went on to work as a manager in retail for several years. She said she really enjoyed working and meeting new people.

Carol enjoyed time with grandkids and often would read and play games with them. She enjoyed the energy that the young ones gave her. She was an avid sewer and you could find her at her machine working on several projects at a time. She was currently working on several quilts for her children. She also had several doll clothes that she was putting together. She always said she was going to sell them but usually gave them to the great grandkids instead. She liked to make bags to store and carry things with her such as her hand embroidery.

Carol loved reading and when she could no longer read she would have her kids download books for her to listen to on tape. She would much rather listen to books on tape than watch TV. She also painted mountain scenes, often with lakes. Her favorite painting was the mountains with a lake and a small boat. Carol also loved her dogs, especially poodles. She would make sure to feed them snacks quite regularly, often not eating her own dinner to be sure she had some for the dogs. She would give them her dinner and then eat snacks later for herself such as ice cream and cake.

Carol is survived by her son, Clark Faux of Patterson; daughters, Rhonda (Rich) Tassin of Olathe, KS, Constance (Jeff) Shaut of West Des Moines, Elizabeth (Mike) Hetzel of Patterson, and Robin Faux of Ankeny; brother, Larry (Linda) Davis of St. Charles; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mildred (Sampson) Davis; her husband, Stanley; son, Curtis Faux; brother, Keith Davis; and grandson, Nathan Potter.
