Michael Steven Bolger, Kinlee June Bolger, and Owen Jacob Bolger

Michael Steven Bolger, age 37, Kinlee June Bolger, age 5, and Owen Jacob Bolger, age 2, died on March 5th, 2022, when an EF4 tornado hit the home they were visiting in Winterset, Iowa.

Mike is survived by his wife, Kuri; son, Brysen (8); mother, Lynn Larson of Kansas City; brother, Christopher S. Bolger of Castle Rock, CO; father, Ron Bolger (Shellie {Stepsisters, Ashlee Allec & Amie Rose}) of Harrington, KS; his aunt, Kelly; and uncle, Roger. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilmore & Maryland Larson, paternal grandparents Donald & Patricia Bolger.
Mike was born on July 12th, 1984, in Kansas City, MO, and graduated from Blue Springs South High School. He was a proud and active member of the Pipefitters Local 533 for four years and he and his family were a huge part of the Blue Springs BMX community for the last three years. All five of them found deeper joy, discipline and many memories on the track and surrounded by their BMX community.

Mike was known for his hard work, generosity, compassion, and astounding sense of humor. He was a family man who always made sure he was there for his family and they felt truly loved. If you spent any time around him and his family, you saw that his smile very seldomly left his face. He brought joy to many and wanted them to feel that same sense of happiness. Mike truly lived life to the fullest by enjoying the things that matter most: his family and friends. He was hands-on with his children and loved supporting Kuri through baking, running marathons, fishing, BMX, and any of her fun "random adventures." He possessed a spirit and zest for life and the journey, with the most generous heart. He never hesitated to help a friend or a stranger. Mike's heart will live on through his legacy - to love faithfully, work hard, and trust in those you love.

Kinlee June was born in Blue Springs, MO, on July 12th, 2016. Her beautiful light brightened every room, just like her mother, Kuri. She touched many lives and her loving spirit will be remembered long after her passing. She was known for her kindness and love for all living things. Kinlee was the happiest when she was in her boots, dancing, racing BMX, and playing with & taking care of her siblings and friends. Her extravagant personality was shown through the beautiful outfits she chose. She loved her bows, tutus, & jewelry. Kinlee wanted to be a mom and she was "always a mom to Owen".

Owen Jacob was born in Blue Springs, MO, on June 13th, 2019. He was an active toddler who loved being with his family. He was happiest wearing his cowboy boots, playing in the dirt, riding on his strider BMX bike, being held, and snuggling with his siblings and family. Owen was often referred to by his parents as "crazy man" who loved his "kissies & huggies."

Though Kinlee & Owen's lives on this earth were brief, it is undeniable that they were loved deeply by all those around them. Their family and friends will strive to honor their memories by living their lives with these loved ones' spirits and gentle hearts guiding them. They are survived by their mother, Kuri; brother, Brysen (8); uncles Devin, Seth & Chris; aunt, Mallory; "Papa" Raymond Bazley; and grandparents, Lynn Larson, and Ron Bolger. Please find comfort that they are with their loving father, Mike, and their grandmother (Mimi), Melissa Knauer Cooper Bazley, who joined them on their next journey.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Congenital Heart Defects Families Association.

The Celebration of Life details will be shared at a later date.
