Michelle (Hart) Eckstein

Michelle (Hart) Eckstein, 61, of Peru, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Unity Point Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 19th at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Winterset from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Online condolences may be left to the family at caldwellparrish.com.

Michelle was born on October 6th, 1960 to Forrest and Genevieve (Ross) Hart in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from Winterset High School. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dwight James Eckstein, June 1st 1979. They made their home in Peru Ia. To this union they had two children, Angelina and Nicholas.

Michelle was a beloved wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed working in the Winterset community. She especially enjoyed working at Summit Veterinary Services where she was known by her coworkers as a hard worker and friendly face. She was very passionate about her work and loved all animals.

Michelle had an infectious personality and people were drawn to her. She was always there for you. She enjoyed making people laugh, reading and being outdoors with her animals. Michelle will be greatly missed.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwight of 39 years; sister Suzanne; brothers Mark and Steven; and father-in-law James Eckstein.

Michelle is survived by her daughter, Angelina of Peru; son, Nick (Amanda) of DeSoto; brothers, Mike (Susan), Doug (Mary Jane), and Leo (Cheri); mother-in-law, Darlene Eckstein; sisters-in-law, Linda (Mori) Sorenson and Jeanie (Bob) Stephens; along with many nieces and nephews.
