Page 1, Column 5Fred Baker was born in Winterset, Iowa, December 16, 1875 and died at his home in Winterset July 25, 1915, aged 39 years, 7 months and 9 days.
On June 30, 1910 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Ribble in Des Moines, who, during his long illness tenderly cared for his every want. Mr. Baker has been in very poor health since April 5. He was patient in his suffering and bore his sickness with splendid fortitude. He was a member of the Knights of Maccabees. He was honest, upright and honorable in his dealings.
Besides the wife he leaves to mourn his death, his aged father, John Baker (his mother having preceded him in death eleven years ago), two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Wing, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Mary Fudge, Winterset; two brothers, John B. and Harry, both of Winterset.
The funeral occurred from the home Tuesday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis, assisted by Rev. J. S. Corkey. Interment was made in the Rock City cemetery.
