John Roger McCuddin

John Roger McCuddin, son of John Benjamin McCuddin and Twyla Evelyn Knott, was born March 6,1945 at the Harken Hospital in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Thursday, January 27, 2022, at his home in Indianola at 76 years of age.

Roger received his education at Interstate 35 High School in Truro, Iowa where was active in FFA, band/chorus and track. He graduated in 1963. He was also an active member in 4-H where he enjoyed raising showing sheep.

He was united in marriage to Judith Ann Langdale on July 18, 1964, in Truro, Iowa and four children, Kim, Chris, John and James blessed this union.

Roger and Judy lived and raised their family in Truro, Iowa until 1997 when they moved to Wilmington, Illinois. They returned to Iowa in 2014 and made their home in Indianola.

Roger worked as an over the road truck driver for thirty-five years, driving for Jimmy Dean and Yellow Freight prior to his retirement in 2008.

Family was very important to Roger, especially the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping and taking rides on his golf cart at the lake in Illinois. Woodworking, miniature horses, westerns, and anything cowboy were some of his other interests. Roger was also involved in the leadership team at the United Methodist Church in Braidwood, IL.

Those relatives who preceded John in death were his parents, John and Twyla McCuddin; daughter, Kimberly Sue Russell; father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Leota Langdale and brother-in-law, Larry Langdale.

John leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Judith Ann McCuddin of Indianola, IA, daughter, Chris (Tom) Longer of Indianola, IA, son, John (Tina) McCuddin of Truro, IA, and son, James (Sarah) McCuddin of Truro, IA; grandchildren, Josh (Jessica) Garrison of Norwalk, IA, Jenna (Matt) Tharp of Monticello, AR, Jake (Jennifer) Hartley of Moorehead, MN, Brittni (Doug) Ummel of Oxford, MI, Nate Longer of Indianola, IA, Bailey McCuddin of Truro, IA, Carli McCuddin of Truro, IA, Josie McCuddin of Truro, IA, Alyssa (Andrew) Morris of Clive, IA, Kyle (Sammantha) McCuddin of Patton, MO, Gracie McCuddin of New Virginia, IA, and; great grandchildren, Boston, Cole, Emery, Hollis, Tate, Kennedy, Knoxx, Kyrbee, Ellianna, and Waylon; brother, Kent (Gayle) McCuddin of St. Charles, IA, sister, Janie (Chuck) Jewell of Sugarland, TX as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home, Tuesday February 1, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating.

Visitation will open after 12 noon Monday and the family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 31, 2022, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola

Interment will be in the New Virginia Cemetery.
